Sophie Turner to Star as Lara Croft in New Tomb raider Series for Prime Video

Amazon MGM studios is developing a live-action Tomb Raider series for Prime Video, with Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner set to portray the iconic adventurer, Lara Croft. The series is inspired by the globally popular video game franchise and promises a fresh take on the character’s thrilling exploits.
Casting and Creative Team
Joining Turner is a stellar ensemble cast, including Sigourney Weaver (Alien) as Evelyn Wallis, a character described as eager to exploit Lara’s talents .celia Imrie (The Thursday Murder Club) will play Francine, head of advancement at the British Museum, focused on fundraising. Jason Isaacs (The white Lotus) is cast as Lara’s uncle, atlas DeMornay.
Further additions to the cast include Martin Bobb-Semple as Zip, Bill Paterson as Winston, Paterson Joseph as Thomas Warner, and Jack Bannon as Gerry. sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, John Heffernan, and August Wittgenstein complete the main cast, with Wittgenstein portraying Lukas, a character with a shared history with Lara.
the series is created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), and Jonathan Van tulleken will serve as director and executive producer.

Sophie Turner shared her enthusiasm for the role, noting that Lara Croft has always been a “fierce female role model” and an “emboldened” figure in a male-dominated world. Turner follows in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander, who previously portrayed Lara Croft in film adaptations.
