Sabres Defeat Canadiens in High-Shot Game

MONTREAL – The Buffalo Sabres defeated the Montreal Canadiens 4-2 in a Thursday night NHL matchup. Despite a significant shot advantage for Montreal, Buffalo secured the win, narrowing the gap in the standings.

Juraj Slafkovský, the Slovak forward for the Canadiens, played on the second line alongside Oliver Kapanen and Ivan Demidov. He did not contribute to the scoring during the game, logging 18 minutes and 50 seconds of ice time.

The Canadiens dominated the shot count, outshooting the Sabres 34-17 overall. Montreal was particularly strong in the second period, winning the shot battle 15-3. However, this offensive pressure did not translate into enough goals to overcome Buffalo’s scoring.
