Sony Expands BRAVIA Theater Lineup with New Home Audio and TV Options
Sony has expanded its home entertainment offerings with the launch of a new BRAVIA Theater home audio lineup and the BRAVIA 3 II LED TV. The new products, announced on March 25, 2026, aim to deliver a more immersive cinema experience at home, with options for both new setups and upgrades to existing systems.
New BRAVIA Audio Products
The BRAVIA Theater lineup includes two soundbars – the BRAVIA Theater Bar 7 and BRAVIA Theater Bar 5 – along with a range of optional speakers, including the BRAVIA Theater Sub 9, Sub 8, Sub 7 subwoofers and the BRAVIA Theater Rear 9 rear speakers. Sony emphasizes the flexibility of the system, allowing consumers to build and expand their home cinema over time. ZDNet reports that all products are mix-and-match compatible, except for the Theater Bar 5.
BRAVIA Theater Bar 7
The BRAVIA Theater Bar 7 is positioned as a single-soundbar solution featuring nine speaker units, including up-firing and side-firing speakers. It supports Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology to create a wider, more immersive sound field. It is designed to deliver a cinema-style surround experience without the need for additional speakers, though it can be expanded with optional subwoofers and rear speakers.
BRAVIA Theater Bar 5
The BRAVIA Theater Bar 5 is a 3.1-channel soundbar system paired with a wireless subwoofer. Sony aims to provide a balance of bass performance, dialogue clarity, and value with this model. It incorporates S-Force PRO Front Surround and Vertical Surround Engine technologies for a more enveloping sound experience.
Subwoofer and Rear Speaker Options
To complement the soundbars, Sony is offering three wireless subwoofer options: the BRAVIA Theater Sub 9, Sub 8, and Sub 7. The Sub 9 features dual 200mm drivers with a vibration-cancelling design, while the Sub 8 has a single 200mm driver. The Sub 7 is a more compact option with a 130mm driver. The BRAVIA Theater Rear 9 package includes wireless rear speakers with up-firing drivers to enhance rear-channel performance and expand the 360 Spatial Sound Mapping effect. Dual subwoofer playback is also supported with compatible models. PopSci
