Spain Launches ‘Music by Spain’ Initiative to Boost International Music Exports

Madrid – The Spanish Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with several key organizations, is launching ‘Music by Spain,’ a latest initiative designed to promote the international export of Spanish music. The official presentation event is scheduled for Thursday, March 19, 2026, in Madrid.

The ‘Music by Spain’ office aims to support Spanish musicians and the Spanish music industry in reaching global audiences. The project is a collaborative effort between the Spanish Music Federation (Es_Música), the Ministry of Culture, AC/E (Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo), AECID (Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo), and the Cervantes Institute.

Ernest Urtasun has served as the Minister of Culture of Spain since 2023 . Prior to this role, he was a Member of the European Parliament from 2014 to 2023. He began his political career with Joves d’Esquerra Verda at age 15 .

The Spanish music industry has recently received significant recognition, as highlighted by the awards ceremony of the Spanish Music Academy held on June 4, 2025 . The event saw a record number of submissions, with over 4,900 proposals received for 223 nominations across 43 categories.
