Square Enix Announces Fall 2026 Manga and Book Lineup, Including Final Fantasy Tactics Art Book
Square Enix has unveiled its upcoming slate of manga and book releases, scheduled for Fall 2026. The lineup features seven new manga titles and two new book releases, including a spin-off to the popular series, The Apothecary Diaries, and a comprehensive art book dedicated to Final Fantasy Tactics. Pre-orders for all titles will open on February 19th.
New Manga Titles
The Apothecary Diaries: Xiaolan’s Story, Vol. 1
Written by Natsu Hyuuga, with illustrations by Itsuki Nanao, this volume offers a retelling of events from The Apothecary Diaries through the perspective of Xiaolan. The story follows Xiaolan’s journey from a humble background to serving in the imperial palace, where she navigates the complexities of palace life and forms a bond with Maomao. It is scheduled for release in October 2026 and will be priced at $12.99.
Boyish Girlfriend, Vol. 1
This romantic comedy, launching in September 2026 for $12.99, centers on Daichi and Akira, childhood friends who begin a romantic relationship while attending different high schools. The story explores Akira’s evolving personality as Daichi discovers new facets of her character.
My Ex-Boyfriend Loves Boys’ Love, Vol. 1
Set in an office environment, this romantic comedy, priced at $14.99 and releasing in September 2026, follows Momo Akado, a fan of boys’ love manga, as she unexpectedly reconnects with her former boyfriend and discovers their shared interest in the genre.
Stalker Stalks Stalker, Vol. 1
Releasing in October 2026 for $14.99, this boys’ love comedy unfolds at a university, revolving around three students entangled in a web of unrequited crushes and secret admiration.
Yang Can’t Live Alone, Vol. 1
This college romance, launching in September 2026 for $12.99, pairs Yuu, a serious student, with Yang, a Chinese exchange student, as their relationship evolves from a practical arrangement to something more personal.
My Dress-Up Darling XOXO! (One Shot)
A comedic spin-off of My Dress-Up Darling, created by Shinichi Fukuda, this one-shot features Marin Kitagawa, Wakana Gojo, and other characters in lighthearted and exaggerated scenarios. It will be released in October 2026 for $14.99.
The Princess Groom, Vol. 1
This fantasy romance, priced at $12.99 and launching in August 2026, follows Lady Leticia, who uses a magical ring to transform into a young man, altering her dynamic with Prince Gilbert.
New Book Releases
My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 Official Anime Fanbook
Releasing in November 2026 for $24.99, this fanbook provides a behind-the-scenes look at the second season of the My Dress-Up Darling anime, featuring promotional artwork, production materials from CloverWorks, staff commentary, and interviews.
The Art of Final Fantasy Tactics
This hardcover art book, priced at $27.99 and releasing in November 2026, collects illustrations from Final Fantasy Tactics, The War of the Lions, and The Ivalice Chronicles. It includes character designs, job illustrations, map concepts, and development sketches. The book is currently available for pre-order at the Square Enix Store, with additional retailers opening pre-orders on February 19th. The 127-page, A4-size tome covers all versions of the game, including the original PlayStation release, the PSP and mobile version, and the recent remaster for Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
