sri Lanka Announces Rp 541 Million Aid for Flood-Landslide Victims
The Sri Lankan goverment announced a significant aid package for citizens affected by floods and landslides caused by cyclone Ditwah, which devastated parts of the country.
Sri Lanka‘s Ministry of Finance, as reported by AFP on Saturday (2025/12/06), announced that survivors will be offered up to 10 million Sri Lankan Rupees – equivalent to IDR 541.4 million – to purchase land in a safer location and build a new home.
The Colombo government also announced on Friday evening (2025/12/05) that it will provide 1 million Sri Lankan Rupees, or about IDR 54 million, as compensation for each person who died or suffered permanent disabilities.
