Starsand Island Roadmap: What’s Coming to the Cozy Life Sim on Xbox Game Pass

Seed Sparkle Lab has unveiled its development roadmap for Starsand Island, outlining new content and improvements planned for the early access period through June 2026. The game, which launched recently on Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, is set to receive regular updates adding features like new outfits, NPC improvements, mod support, and multiplayer functionality.

March Update: New Outfits and In-Game Items

The first update, slated for March, will introduce new “Etherial Style” outfit sets inspired by the characters Sun Wukong and the Great Sage Equal to Heaven. Zerine’s General Store will feature firework-themed items, and Lex Woodwork’s will offer collaborations with Rednote.

April Update: Enhanced NPC Interactions

In April, players can expect new voice content for Non-Player Characters (NPCs), alongside improvements to existing voice performances. Crucially, the NPC Dating System will also receive enhancements.

May Update: Mod Support Arrives

May will bring the introduction of basic creator tools, allowing players to create and share mods through Steam Workshop. Currently, there is no indication whether Xbox players will have access to these modding capabilities.

June Update: Multiplayer Co-op

The June update is set to add multiplayer functionality, enabling co-op gameplay. Players will be able to visit their friends’ islands and embark on adventures together.

Starsand Island on Xbox Game Pass

Starsand Island is available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, costing $29.99 monthly. The game is also a premium title, priced at $27.3 on Steam. It is an ‘Xbox Play Anywhere’ title, allowing players to share progress across Xbox consoles and PC via the Xbox App, including handheld devices like the Xbox Rog Ally X, Lenovo Legion Go S, and MSI Claw 8 AI.

Early Access Details

As an Early Access title, Starsand Island is still under development, with content and features subject to change based on community feedback. The full version of the game is planned for release in summer 2026 on PC, Xbox, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch 2. Currently, the game is unavailable for direct purchase on the Xbox Store; access is limited to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.
