Stripe Expands Dublin Operations With 200 New Jobs Following 35% Headcount Growth

Irish-founded financial technology company Stripe is expanding its Dublin headquarters to create 200 new jobs, building on a headcount increase of more than 35% since the start of the year. The online payments firm now employs more than 1,000 people in Ireland. The new positions will span engineering and go-to-market roles.

The expansion follows the company’s move into a new Dublin headquarters at One Wilton Park in October 2025. That relocation tripled the firm’s physical footprint to 14,500 square meters. Stripe maintains global dual headquarters in San Francisco and Dublin, with the Irish capital serving as the operational hub for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, as well as a global product development center.

Driving European Markets and Global Product Development From Dublin

Dublin acts as the twin engine of Stripe’s global growth, according to Eileen O’Mara, vice chair at Stripe. “In the last decade, Dublin has established itself as the twin engine of Stripe’s growth story globally,” said Stripe’s vice chair Eileen O’Mara. The office leads development for core company offerings worldwide, including payment processing, Stripe Tax, and fraud-detection tools.

“The continued expansion of our Irish team reflects both the strong demand for Stripe’s products and services in Europe, and Ireland’s status as one of the best places in the world to build and scale global operations,” Ms. O’Mara said.

Government officials welcomed the job creation announcement. Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke noted that Stripe’s ongoing investment demonstrates Ireland’s competitive strengths.

“As Ireland’s economy continues to evolve, companies such as Stripe play an important role in advancing new technologies, developing world-class expertise, and enhancing Ireland’s international competitiveness,” Mr. Burke said.

Government Support and Economic Impact Across Ireland

The expansion receives backing from the Irish Government through IDA Ireland. Dónal Travers, executive director of IDA Ireland, described the 200 new roles as a clear endorsement of the country’s skilled talent pool.

“Stripe’s plans to add another 200 staff, with 1,000 people already employed in Ireland, is a clear endorsement of Ireland’s highly skilled and deep talent base, and of Dublin’s position as a global international financial services and technology hub,” said Dónal Travers, Executive Director of IDA Ireland.

Stripe works with 86,000 Irish businesses and entrepreneurs, ranging from tech firms like Wayflyer and Flipdish to established institutions such as Bank of Ireland, Brown Thomas Arnotts, the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), and Smyths.

Financial figures released by the company show strong local performance. Pre-tax profits at Stripe’s Dublin-based unit rose to $445.5 million, marking a 337% increase, while revenues grew 32.5% to $6.79 billion. Co-founded in 2010 by Irish brothers Patrick and John Collison, the company was valued at $159 billion during an employee tender offer earlier this year.

Acquisition Bid and Strategic Growth Plans

However, the acquisition was abandoned in August.
