TV presenter Eamonn Holmes has been hospitalized since suffering a stroke in April, while his partner Katie Alexander has moved out of their shared rented Surrey flat.
Katie Alexander Vacates Surrey Property
Katie Alexander, a 45-year-old relationship counsellor and mother of three, has cleared her belongings from the rented £1.3 million property in Surrey, moving out on Friday. The Sun reported that Alexander is devastated by the change in living arrangements. Alexander split her time between the Surrey flat and her home in West Yorkshire while supporting Holmes through his ongoing health crisis. A source told The Sun on Sunday, “Katie is still very much together with Eamonn and in love, but she’s moved out of the flat. It’s an incredibly sad situation — she loved it there and the time they spent together making it home.”
GB News Denies Departure Claims
Reports emerged last week indicating that Holmes would not return to his breakfast programme hosting role on GB News, though network bosses have denied those claims. A GB News spokesman told media outlets, “Eamonn is on leave and we’re looking forward to him returning.” Holmes has not appeared on the channel since March 11. His health difficulties began in 2021 following three slipped discs and a dislocated pelvis, which necessitated the use of a wheelchair after 2022 surgery and a subsequent shoulder fracture from a fall at home.
Family Assumes Financial Oversight
Holmes began renting the three-bedroom Surrey residence following his 2024 separation from his estranged wife and former This Morning co-host Ruth Langsford, with whom he is currently divorcing. Amid his prolonged hospital stay following the April stroke, Holmes’s family in Northern Ireland has assumed management of his financial affairs. Alexander, who met Holmes online following his separation from Langsford, has been described by Holmes during previous health struggles as his "perfect tonic."
Uncertain Discharge Plans
Holmes was last photographed in June inside his hospital gown and sunglasses alongside Alexander, expressing eagerness to return to work in a suit and tie. It remains unclear where the wheelchair-user will reside upon his eventual discharge from the hospital. “I can’t wait to be out of this gown and back in a suit and tie,” Holmes said in June. “Watch this space — I will be back after this break.”
