Sukabumi Boy’s Death: Stepmother Allegedly Involved in Abuse

Sukabumi, West Java – A 12-year-old boy, identified as NS, from Bojongsari, Jampang Kulon District, Sukabumi Regency, died on Thursday, February 19, 2026, after allegedly being abused by his stepmother. The case has gained widespread attention after details and a video of the boy’s condition circulated on social media.

Father Recounts Shocking Discovery

Anwar Satibi (38), NS’s father, described returning home from work in Sukabumi City after receiving a call from his wife about his son’s illness. “I went home because there was a call. Go home, okay? Return (home), (NS) not well (is sick), continues to wander, is hot (fever),” Anwar stated, according to Kompas.com. Upon arriving home, Anwar was shocked to find his son with blistered skin.

Initially, his wife attributed the condition to a fever. However, NS later revealed to medical staff at Bhayangkara TK II Setukpa Polri Hospital that he had been given hot water to drink by his stepmother, resulting in the severe burns on his feet, back, and hands, as reported by Detik.com.

Previous Reports of Abuse

According to Anwar, this was not the first instance of alleged abuse. He stated that a similar incident occurred approximately a year prior, involving a conflict between NS and his stepmother’s child. “Pas terjadi penganiayaan satu tahun yang lalu di Polres Sukabumi, itu gara gara-gara berantem sama anak angkatnya itu,” Anwar said, as reported by SukabumiUpdate.com. The case was initially reported to the Sukabumi Police, but was reportedly mediated by a local figure named Haji Isep, and the matter was settled after the stepmother pleaded for forgiveness and promised to change.

Anwar clarified that he never officially withdrew the initial police report. He recalled showing officers his son’s injuries during that previous incident, expressing his distress at the time.

Autopsy Requested

Anwar Satibi requested an autopsy to determine the cause of his son’s death, stating he did not want to falsely accuse anyone but wanted to seek the truth through medical evidence. “Saya, saya orang tuanya yang minta untuk dilakukan otopsi,” he said, according to SukabumiUpdate.com.

Final Moments

Prior to his death, NS was seen in a video with his father, Anwar, appearing healthy and in good spirits. This video has been widely shared on social media, highlighting the tragic circumstances of his death, as reported by TribunSumsel.com. Anwar was working as a dental technician outside of Sukabumi when he received the call about his son’s condition.
