Supernova Finalists Announced – NRA.lv

All ten “Supernova” finalists have been announced, who will compete for the only ticket to the international Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna in a week. The second “Supernova” semi-final was also quite intriguing and full of surprises.

It seems that the second semi-final was somewhat weaker in terms of the composition of the participants, but this does not mean that the ones who made it to the final are also like that. First of all, this can be said about the convincing Atvara with the song “Ānā”, which started to gather votes with the touching story about herself even before going on stage, thus paving the way to victory in this round – although there are no official data, it will not be a surprise if it was Atvara who was the best in the overall evaluation of the jury and the audience.

The other – the explosive Miks Galvanovskis in every sense with the song “Cruel Angel”, who showed a real hand and a decent show (although he greatly exaggerated), almost blowing the Riga Cinema Studio. Happy for Mika, hope the mustache stayed healthy! Also, subjective joy for Krisy (real name Kristiana Skrudup), who comes from the hip-hop environment and is gifted with the shamelessness characteristic of this environment in a good way, and the song “Take It”, which is one of the biggest surprises to be in the final.

In the finals of “Supernova” Robert Ox or Roberts Memmēns – the experienced producer, member of the group “Framest” and the almost two-meter tall man who has already participated in the international Eurovision with “Citiem Zēnēms” was probably also supported by the couriers of “Volta” and “Bolt”, because the song “Ravin’ At The Taj Mahal” could also be liked by their mentality. On the other hand, Legzdin and “Ribbon” were definitely pushed into the final by the jury – a high-quality piece, but hardly particularly supported by the audience.

As for those left behind, the biggest surprise could be the fact that the new hope of country music supported by Guntar Račas, Edvards Strazdiņš (song “I Ain’t Got The Guts”) did not continue – it is true, the other protégé of Guntar, Kristīne Magija, also stayed there with “Insanity”. The experience didn’t help the group “Paper Planes” (song “You’re My Saviour”) either, while Macata junior, or Ambassador, with “Is it any wonder?” the start is generally regarded as boredom and failure. In this sense, Jānis Rugājs, known as a sensation in “X Factor” (song “Smoke”), also showed a bad performance, a bit more was also expected from Paula Dunderes, although her song “Dejot

vien” could still be continued on radio stations. Among those who did not make it to the finals, the biggest regret for Nolark is a terrible stage image and an even more terrible stage pseudonym, but an interesting performance and a memorable song (“Different Places”).

Atvara, Miks Galvanovskis, Robert Ox, Legzdina and Krisy will join Emilia, “Kautkaili”, Tikasha Sakam (Nancy Garkalne), “Elpo” and the duo “De Mantra” in the decisive round from the first semi-final. Final – February 14 at 21.10 on LTV1 and REplay.lv, LSM.lv, as well as on Latvijas Radio 5.
