Tampa Bay Empanada Festival Returns to St. Petersburg for 2026 Edition

The 4th Annual Tampa Bay Empanada Festival is set to take place on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Win! Derby Lane in St. Petersburg, Florida. The event will run from 12 p.m. To 8 p.m. Each day, offering attendees a chance to sample more than 50 varieties of empanadas from over 15 local and regional vendors.

Hosted at the Derby Lane property located at 10490 Gandy Boulevard North, the festival marks the first time the popular Tampa-based event is being held in St. Petersburg after three previous editions in Tampa. Organizers emphasize the family- and dog-friendly atmosphere, with free general admission available before 2 p.m. For those who RSVP in advance.

Beyond the wide selection of empanadas — featuring both traditional and innovative fillings — the festival will include live DJ music, interactive games such as beer pong, cornhole and giant Jenga, as well as craft cocktail offerings from local mixologists. A portion of the proceeds will support local charitable organizations.

One of the festival’s highlights is the empanada eating competition, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. On both days. Participation is free and open to all attendees, with the winner determined by who can finish four full empanadas first.

VIP ticket packages are also available for those seeking enhanced access and amenities. Detailed information, including vendor lists, ticket options, and parking guidance, can be found on the official festival website.

The event continues to grow as a signature spring celebration in the Tampa Bay region, drawing food enthusiasts and families alike to enjoy a diverse culinary experience centered around one of Latin America’s most beloved handheld foods.
