Tchéky Karyo's Final Days: Co-stars Pay Tribute to His Last Role and Farewell Gathering

Tchéky Karyo’s Final Role Airs on France 2 Following His Death at Age 72

Actor Tchéky Karyo makes his final onscreen appearance in the France 2 mini-series La Terre et le Sang, which premiered its latest episodes on November 2, 2026, more than a year after his death at age 72 on October 31, 2025, Gala.fr reported. The broadcast brought renewed attention to the actor’s final months and his private farewells with co-stars Vahina Giocante and Thierry Neuvic.

Cast Remembers the Actor’s Final Gathering at Home

Reflecting on the production during the Festival de la fiction de La Rochelle, Giocante shared that Karyo organized a gathering at his home shortly before his death. She described the meeting as a farewell gathering where the actor gave to his colleagues one last time. Tchéky has always been demanding, but this time, he was also very peaceful, like an old sage who has understood the meaning of life, finally, Giocante told Télé-Loisirs, as detailed by Gala.fr.

Neuvic also formed a close bond with Karyo during filming. He noted that Karyo was mourning the loss of a close friend while facing his own illness. He had just lost his best friend and it was breaking his heart. It was crazy because he refused the death of this man with an extraordinary personality, while knowing that his own was close, which I realized afterwards, Neuvic told Télé-Loisirs.

Tributes and Burial Details in Brittany and Paris

Following his passing, Karyo was laid to rest on November 5, 2025, at the cemetery in Concarneau, Finistère. A public memorial followed in Paris on November 13, 2025, drawing figures such as Vincent Cassel, Liane Foly, Jean-Hugues Anglade, and Neuvic.

Karyo shared his life with actress Valérie Keruzoré, known for her role in the series Kaamelott and as the daughter of football player Raymond Kéruzoré. The couple met while performing in Henrik Ibsen’s play Solness le constructeur at the Théâtre de l’Athénée, a relationship Karyo discussed with Paris Match in 2013. Regarding his final resting place, Keruzoré explained that the burial in Brittany was his personal wish, noting his fondness for the region’s tranquility and her family.
