TCL CSOT Unveils Super Pixel Technology for Next-Gen Mobile Displays at MWC 2026

Barcelona, Spain – March 4, 2026 – TCL CSOT, a subsidiary of TCL Technology, today unveiled its Super Pixel display technology at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, promising advancements in clarity, power efficiency and refresh rates for mobile devices. The launch highlights the company’s “APEX” philosophy, prioritizing user-centric innovation and sustainability over purely chasing higher specifications.

Super Pixel: A New Approach to Display Performance

Super Pixel technology fundamentally re-engineers the pixel arrangement to deliver tangible benefits for users. According to TCL CSOT, the technology achieves these improvements through three key areas: High Clarity, Smart Power Use, and Rapid Refresh.

High Clarity

By increasing sub-pixel density by approximately 1.8%, Super Pixel aims to deliver sharpness comparable to WQHD SPR (Subpixel Rendering), resulting in finer detail and improved accuracy in images and text. TCL CSOT claims this enhancement will provide a more visually refined experience.

Smart Power Use

Optimized data processing within the Super Pixel architecture reduces power consumption by up to 25% without compromising image quality, directly contributing to extended battery life for mobile devices. TCL CSOT emphasizes this as a key benefit for users seeking all-day performance.

Rapid Refresh

Super Pixel enables refresh rates up to 40% higher than conventional designs, ensuring smoother motion and responsiveness across a range of applications. Channel News reports this feature is particularly beneficial for gamers and users who prioritize a fluid visual experience.

World-First Super Pixel Mobile Displays

TCL CSOT showcased three world-first 6.9-inch mobile displays utilizing Super Pixel technology:

  • World’s First Super Pixel High-Clarity Mobile Display (6.9”): Focused on delivering exceptional visual detail.
  • World’s Lowest-power Consumption Super Pixel Mobile Display (6.9”): Prioritizing extended battery life.
  • World’s First Super Pixel High Refresh Rate Mobile Display (6.9”): Designed for smooth and responsive performance.

Beyond Super Pixel: Inkjet-Printed OLED Advancements

In addition to Super Pixel, TCL CSOT also highlighted advancements in Inkjet-printed OLED (IJP OLED) technology at MWC 2026. The company is progressing towards scalable production, including the development of the world’s first 8.6-generation IJP OLED production line. TCL CSOT demonstrated a 14-inch ultra-thin rigid notebook display (0.77mm thick, under 77 grams) and a 28-inch foldable and portable IJP OLED monitor with a tri-fold design.

“With Super Pixel, we are pushing display performance Beyond Limits,” said Pei Lin, Senior Vice President of TCL CSOT. “We didn’t just chase higher numbers. we engineered a smarter pixel arrangement that delivers clear, tangible benefits.”

Jun Zhao, Senior Vice President of TCL Technology and CEO of TCL CSOT, added, “The APEX philosophy is our compass, guiding us to create visually stunning, healthier, more sustainable technologies. Advancements like Super Pixel and IJP OLED aren’t just single-component improvements; they represent a fundamental shift toward manufacturing stunning, flexible, and efficient displays.”
