TCU Beach Volleyball Suffers Pair of Close Losses to Florida State and USC

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – The No. 6 TCU beach volleyball team experienced a challenging day at the Florida Atlantic Beach Invitational, falling in two tightly contested matches against No. 7 Florida State and No. 3 USC on Sunday, March 15, 2026. Both matches ultimately came down to the final court, with the Horned Frogs narrowly losing in three sets each time.

Match One: No. 6 TCU 2, No. 7 Florida State 3

TCU faced a rematch against No. 7 Florida State, ultimately falling with a final score of 2-3. Due to inclement weather, the match was conducted with courts 1, 3, 4, and 5 competing simultaneously. Florida State gained an early advantage, securing wins at Flights 3 and 1.

The Horned Frogs responded with a victory from Stacy Reeves and Deniela Konstantinova, narrowing the deficit. Hannah Taylor and Melina Mol followed with a three-set win, setting up a decisive final matchup at No. 2. Despite a hard-fought battle, Elea Beutel and Adriana Serrano Ferro lost in three sets, handing the victory to Florida State.

Following a weather delay, TCU faced No. 3 USC, ultimately falling 2-3. All five courts began simultaneously due to the weather conditions. USC quickly established a lead, winning in straight sets at Flights 1 and 2.

TCU battled back with a straight-set victory from Morgan Williams and Deniela Konstantinova. The match then hinged on the outcomes at Flights 3 and 4, both going to decisive third sets. Stacy Reeves and Sofia Izuzquiza secured a win at No. 3, tying the overall score. However, Melina Mol and Hannah Taylor narrowly lost their match at No. 4 in the third set (15-13), giving USC the victory.
