Tecno Launches Megabook K15S in Indonesia With AMD Ryzen 5 and Nine Ports
Tecno has officially expanded its laptop lineup in Indonesia with the release of the Megabook K15S, arriving as a mid-tier option positioned between the brand’s 14-inch and 16-inch models, Compass reported. The device brings a 15.6-inch display, an AMD Ryzen 5 processor, and a wide range of physical ports designed for daily productivity. The laptop is designed to support daily computing needs for users ranging from students to professional workers.
AMD Ryzen 5 Powers Laptop with Upgradable RAM
Under the hood, the laptop runs on an AMD Ryzen 5 7430U processor featuring six cores, 12 threads, and a maximum clock speed of 4.3 GHz, paired with integrated AMD Radeon Graphics, according to Sumeks. The base configuration includes 8 GB of DDR4 RAM utilizing two SO-DIMM slots, which users can upgrade up to 32 GB. Internal storage relies on a 256 GB PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD. The hardware combination is built to support tasks such as processing documents, preparing presentations, running multiple applications simultaneously, and participating in online meetings.
To manage thermal loads up to 35 watts, Tecno equips the chassis with a cooling system consisting of a single fan and a copper pipe. The 15.6-inch Full HD display features a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 60 Hz refresh rate, a typical brightness of 300 nits, and a 45 percent NTSC color gamut. Additional hardware features include a four-level backlit keyboard, a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button, a 720p HD front camera with a physical privacy shutter, dual microphones featuring AI ENC technology, and stereo speakers supporting DTS Immersive Sound Effects. The device runs on the Windows 11 Home operating system, supports Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1, and includes the OneLeap feature for connecting the laptop with Tecno phones alongside the Tecno PC Manager application.
Nine Built-In Ports Eliminate Dongle Dependence
A central feature of the release is the inclusion of nine physical ports, allowing users to connect external displays and peripherals without relying on adapters. Suara.com notes that the left side houses a Kensington Lock Slot, a dedicated USB-C charging port, HDMI 1.4, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port operating at speeds up to 10 Gbps, a full-featured USB-C port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The right side features a TF card reader, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port supporting up to 5 Gbps, and an RJ45 Ethernet port for stable wired internet connections.
Built with an aluminum alloy body measuring 17.3 mm thick and weighing about 1.7 kilograms, the laptop includes an 180-degree hinge. Powering the system is a 70 Wh battery that supports 65W GaN fast charging through USB-C, with a manufacturer-claimed lifespan of up to 17.5 hours depending on usage patterns and screen brightness.
Sales Launch on TikTok Shop and E-Commerce Platforms
Initial sales began on October 23, 2026, exclusively via TikTok Shop by Tokopedia, before expanding on October 25, 2026, to other major e-commerce platforms including Shopee, Tokopedia, Lazada, Blibli, and Akulaku. Tecno Has Not Stated Plans for Higher Configurations
While the initial rollout covers multiple online platforms and select offline retail channels in Indonesia, it remains unstated whether Tecno plans to introduce higher RAM or storage configurations beyond the base 8 GB and 256 GB model, or when the device might expand to other regional markets outside the country.
