The Afghan Whigs Announce 40th Anniversary Tour and New Single “House of I”
Indie rock veterans The Afghan Whigs are celebrating four decades as a band with a North American anniversary tour kicking off next month, alongside the release of their new single, “House of I.” This marks the group’s first original music since the 2022 album How Do You Burn?
New Single “House of I”
“House of I” is described as a fierce rock anthem with powerful vocals, thumping drumwork, and driving guitars [Consequence]. Frontman Greg Dulli produced and mixed the track with Christopher Thorn, formerly of Blind Melon [SPIN]. Dulli stated the song was recorded in New Orleans last summer, aiming for an uptempo sound [SPIN]. The single previews an upcoming, as-yet-unannounced album, slated for release later in 2026 [Exclaim].
40th Anniversary Tour with Mercury Rev
The Afghan Whigs will embark on a 40th anniversary tour beginning April 25th at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, New York [Exclaim]. Indie rock band Mercury Rev will join them as support for the entire tour [Exclaim]. The tour will conclude on May 24th at Pappy & Harriett’s in Pioneertown, California [Consequence].

Since reuniting in 2012, The Afghan Whigs have released three studio albums: Do to the Beast (2014), In Spades (2017), and How Do You Burn? (2022) [Consequence].
