Côte-d’Or: Roads Remain Slippery Despite alert Cancellation
As of Sunday morning, January 25, 2026, the Côte-d’Or department has lifted its snow-ice alert. However, authorities urge motorists to exercise extreme caution due to persistent icy conditions on roadways.
Temperatures are hovering near freezing throughout the department, creating a significant risk of black ice. The Department is actively conducting localized salting operations in areas including Sombernon, Saint Seine l’Abbaye, Saulieu, Arnay le Duc, and along the A38 (La Côte d’Orienne) to mitigate these hazards.
In addition to icy roads, dense fog continues to affect visibility in the Ouche Valley and the Plaine de Saône regions. Drivers in these areas should reduce speed and increase following distances.
Motorists are advised to remain vigilant and adjust their driving to the prevailing weather conditions. Updated road conditions and further details can be found on the Department’s official website.
