A fire raged in a high-rise building in Kharkov due to a short circuit

Rescuers received a report of a fire in a 9-story building on Mike Johansen Street in the Kiev region on February 12 at 15:02, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkov region said.

The fire occurred in an apartment on the ninth floor.

“The fire engulfed household items on an area of ​​3 square meters,” the State Emergency Service noted.

The fire was quickly localized. The fire did not spread to neighboring apartments and there were no injuries. The fire was completely extinguished at 15:44.

According to preliminary data, the cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit.

“There’s nowhere to get more electricity from” – oblenergo about blackouts in Kharkov

Now the Kharkov region does not receive enough electricity, explained the press secretary of Kharkovoblenergo JSC Vladimir Skichko during a briefing on February 12.

“We get a very limited amount of electricity. What is it spent on? First, electricity is directed to critical infrastructure. And, of course, Kharkov residents and residents of the region receive consumption,” Skichko noted.

According to him, the region now has hourly shutdown schedules, their duration is about 16.5 hours a day. Emergency schedules are also being introduced in Kharkov and the region.

“Because the transmission system cannot provide the Kharkov region with a sufficient amount of electricity. This is due to constant attacks on energy facilities. The Kharkovoblenergo energy equipment itself can distribute a sufficient amount to all consumers, but it does not reach the region in the required quantity. Therefore, we are working to provide all those categories that I have listed with electricity for at least a few hours a day. Unfortunately, today we have nowhere to get more electricity,” the oblenergo emphasized.

Two dozen people, including children, suffered from shelling by the occupiers

Three people died due to “arrivals” in the Kharkov region, reports the head of the KhOVA Oleg Sinegubov. Among the 20 victims are two children.

“Near the village. The brigade of the Balakleya community killed a 63-year-old woman, injured men 59, 49 and 44 years old; in the village Zolochev, a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old boy were injured; in the city of Barvenkovo, women aged 63, 62, 57, 48, 44, 33, 34, 33 years old and a 27-year-old man were injured; in Lozovaya, a 55-year-old man and an 88-year-old woman were killed, men aged 49, 41, 59 years old and women 78, 64, 52 years old were injured,” said the head of the KhOVA.

The Russians released the following weapons in the region during the day:

• nine UAVs of the “Geran-2” type;
• Unmanned aerial vehicle of the “Lancet” type;
• two Molniya-type UAVs;
• five fpv drones;
• 15 UAVs (type to be determined).

As a result of shelling in the Bogodukhovsky district, a private house and car were damaged.

“In the Kharkov region, a bus (the village of Russkaya Lozovaya), a house, a farm (the village of Yuzhnoye), a private house (the village of Novaya Kazachya) were damaged; in the Lozova region, four private houses, two garages, and a warehouse building (Lozovaya town) were damaged; in the Chuguevsky district, a building was damaged (the village of Kochetok),” added Sinegubov.

In the Yuzhno-Slobozhansky direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled nine attacks by Russians near Volchansk, Volchanskiye Khutory and towards the settlements of Grafskoye and Okhrimovka.

Whereas in the Kupyan region there was only one battle in the Novoosinovo area.

“In total, 124 military clashes were recorded over the past 24 hours. According to updated information, yesterday the enemy launched three missile strikes, using eight missiles, 90 air strikes, and dropped 246 guided bombs. In addition, he used 7,976 kamikaze drones to destroy and carried out 3,488 attacks on populated areas and positions of our troops, including 54 from multiple launch rocket systems,” the General Staff noted.

Emergency shutdowns began in the morning in Kharkov and the region

Today, February 12, emergency shutdown schedules have been introduced in Kharkov and the region. This is necessary to stabilize the situation in the energy system, writes Kharkovoblenergo JSC. At the same time, the hourly shutdown schedules continue to apply, the power engineers emphasized.

“Dear consumers, we remind you that due to enemy shelling of energy infrastructure in different regions of the country, the situation is extremely difficult. Please be patient and understand the forced power supply restrictions. We will stand together,” the regional power company added.
