During the October 25, 2026 broadcast of The Traitors on VTM, a calculated recruitment attempt by contestant Thomas Smith triggered an open clash with fellow traitor Stephanie Coorevits. Following the exit of Kürt Rogiers the previous week, Smith chose to recruit content creator Shauna Dewit rather than eliminate her, defying Coorevits’ preference for a direct hit, Nieuwsblad reported.
Thomas Smith Attempts Recruitment Against Stephanie Coorevits Preference
The strategic rift between the traitors widened when Dewit rejected the recruitment offer to remain a faithful contestant. Coorevits seized on the failed maneuver to turn the group against Smith, telling Danira Boukhriss Terkessidis that Smith was responsible for the recruitment attempt. Coorevits defended her aggressive strategy at the round table, acknowledging that her public naming of Smith was self-serving. I have never set anything in motion myself, but now I couldn’t otherwise,
Coorevits stated. I realize this is selfish.
The friction extended beyond the traitors’ alliance as faithfuls competed during the daily mission for two shields, a dagger, and the truth coin. Margriet Hermans secured the dagger and ignored group consensus to claim a shield, frustrating Danira Boukhriss Terkessidis and other contestants. Boukhriss Terkessidis ultimately won the truth coin to verify a player’s identity, demanding certainty after weeks of deception. Meanwhile, Dewit faced suspicion from Bert De Kock and Margriet Hermans, who dismissed her claims of rejecting the traitors as an obvious fabrication.
Traitor Alliance Survives Round Table Confrontation After Shauna Dewit Exit
At the round table, the defense collapsed around Dewit as she failed to convince the group of her faithful status. Following Dewit’s departure, Boukhriss Terkessidis confronted Smith over his conflicting advice during the deliberations. Why do you tell me that Shauna is lying and not vote for her yourself?
Boukhriss Terkessidis asked.
Coorevits and Smith briefly reconciled after the stormy session, agreeing to face the final stages together. We are going for it together in the finale,
they resolved. The remaining traitors immediately turned their attention to the next elimination, weighing whether to target Bert De Kock for his analytical theories or Danira Boukhriss Terkessidis, who currently holds the truth coin.
