Athletes from Ushuaia gathered at the Sports House starting at 6:30 a.m., while participants in Tolhuin met at the YPF service station at 8:30 a.m. In Río Grande, the final group concentrated at the Muriel Gymnasium at 10:30 a.m. before setting off for the national competition.
Event Schedule and Disciplines
The Fueguino delegation will compete across a broad spectrum of sports, including track and field, adaptive athletics, swimming, cycling, judo, wrestling, taekwondo, boxing, fencing, weightlifting, table tennis, badminton, archery, and shooting. Additional entries feature artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, male and female futsal, male and female volleyball, beach handball, beach volleyball, and urban sports.
Participation in the National Evita Games offers young athletes from the province an opportunity to measure their skills against competitors from across Argentina. Provincial sports officials note that the event serves as a platform to gain competitive experience and foster athletic development.
Transition from the Binational Araucanía Games
The departure follows the recent conclusion of the 2026 Binational Araucanía Games in the Los Ríos Region of Chile. Mariano Vallaro, the provincial secretary of sports, highlighted the performance of Fueguino athletes during that event and emphasized the ongoing effort to support their growth.
“The Araucanía Games ended with good results and many outstanding athletes in the different competitions,” Vallaro said, as reported by Provincia 23. “We have many points to continue working on and improving. The kids are very happy and, for some, a cycle closed, while for others a new stage began.”
Vallaro pointed out that these competitive experiences motivate young participants to establish new personal goals. He urged athletes to utilize the human and professional resources available at the provincial sports performance centers to refine their training and surpass previous marks.
