Tim Alexander to be Inducted into Wisconsin Soccer Hall of Fame

Green Bay, WI – Tim Alexander, a highly accomplished soccer coach with deep ties to Wisconsin collegiate athletics, will be inducted into the Wisconsin Soccer Hall of Fame on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Ingleside Hotel in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.1

A Legacy of Coaching Excellence

Alexander’s career spans decades, beginning in 1990 with the Edgewood College men’s soccer program and expanding to include the women’s program in 1993.2 He achieved a significant milestone on September 18, 2013, becoming the 17th coach in NCAA history to reach 500 career wins.2

Record-Breaking Achievements at Edgewood College

Throughout his 26 seasons as the women’s head coach at Edgewood College, Alexander compiled a remarkable record of 331-160-29.1 He too secured an impressive 199-45-8 record in conference play through the 2017 season.1 His leadership resulted in the development of two Honorable Mention All-Americans, 19 NSCAA All-Region selections, seven Conference Player of the Years, eight All-Conference Freshman of the Year recipients, and 90 First Team All-Conference selections.1 Alexander has been recognized as a 10-time conference Coach of the Year.1

Lake Michigan Coach of the Year Honors

Alexander is the only soccer coach to have earned Lake Michigan Coach of the Year honors in the same year for both men’s and women’s soccer, achieving this distinction three times (1999, 1996, and 1994).1 He has received the award a total of 11 times – five times for the men’s program (1998, 1996, 1994) and six times for the women’s program (1997, 1998, 2001, 2004).1

Early Coaching Success at Premontre High School

Prior to his tenure at Edgewood College, Alexander established a strong coaching record at Green Bay Premontre High School (now Notre Dame Academy), where he amassed a 153-31-6 record.1 His teams won nine FVCC championships, and all eleven of his teams qualified for the WISAA playoffs, achieving state runner-up status five times.1

Playing Career and Education

Alexander was also a successful player, earning First Team National Junior College All-American honors in 1974 before transferring to UW-Green Bay.1 At UW-Green Bay, he was a two-time All-Midwest player as a defender and helped the Phoenix reach the final four of the NCAA DII soccer tournament in 1977.1 He later served as an Assistant Coach for the Phoenix in 1978.1 Alexander holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Regional Analysis from UW-Green Bay.
