Homeland Stars Joke About Timothée Chalamet’s Rise to Fame at 2026 Actor Awards

Claire Danes and Damian Lewis playfully reminded Timothée Chalamet of his early role on their Showtime series Homeland during a reunion at the 2026 Actor Awards on Sunday night.

The former Homeland leads presented the award for Best Ensemble in a Drama Series, but first took the opportunity to reflect on the show’s history and Chalamet’s early career. Holding hands as they approached the microphone, Danes questioned Lewis about whether Homeland had ever won in the ensemble category.

“No, no, it did not. And that’s why we’re here today. We would like a rematch,” Danes said, according to Entertainment Weekly. Lewis chimed in, jokingly dismissing past winners like Downton Abbey and Breaking Awful.

The playful banter then turned to Chalamet, who was nominated for his work in Marty Supreme. Danes pointed out that Homeland featured a cast of “heavy hitters,” and then quipped, “We even had Timothée Chalamet on our show. Where do you reckon he learned how to handle the stress of a Safdie movie?” Fiction Horizon reported.

Lewis finished the joke with a mock-threatening message: “We made you, Timothée. Just saying. And we’re ready for a recount.”

Chalamet, now 30 years old, played Finn Walden, the son of the Vice President, in an eight-episode arc on Homeland in 2012. He later took the stage with his Marty Supreme castmates to present their nominated film ensemble. The Daily Mail noted the moment as a “full-circle highlight” for the actor.

At the 2013 Actor Awards, Chalamet received a nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for his role on Homeland, but Downton Abbey ultimately won the award that year.
