Four-Year-Old Zephii Bourke Surfs Snapper Rocks Before He Could Walk

The average four-year-old is developing fundamental motor skills like forming sentences, naming colors and learning to hop and skip. But Zephii Bourke, a toddler from the Gold Coast of Australia, is defying expectations by surfing the waves of Snapper Rocks with his father, Jordon, since he was just one year old.

A Surfing Prodigy

Jordon Bourke introduced Zephii to surfing before the boy could even walk, simply placing him on a soft-top board, securing a helmet, and holding on as they navigated the renowned Snapper Rocks. Jordon explained that Zephii was tandem surfing with him as early as age two. Videos of their surfing adventures, shared on Jordon’s social media, have quickly gone viral, capturing the heartwarming bond between father and son.

Viral Moment at Greenmount

One recent video, taken at Greenmount, shows the pair nearly completing a tandem tube ride. Jordon captioned the post, “ONE OF OUR BEST OF THE SUMMER!! A greenmount banger amongst the chaos crowd today! Missed the barrel but another ride of a lifetime! Thanks to all the legends absolutely cheering for Zephii in water.”

A Family Affair

Jordon emphasizes that surfing with Zephii began as a way to spend quality time together and has evolved into their favorite shared activity. “I just wish him to have fun. That’s the most vital thing about it, is that he has fun. I’m a full-time surf dad, and a part-time recruiter,” he stated.

Inspired by the Pros

Young Zephii already has his surfing idols, listing Kelly Slater, John John Florence, Mick Fanning, and Mason Ho as surfers he admires.
