Second Shooting in Nine Days Rattles Toronto’s Queen Street West

A business in Toronto’s Queen West neighbourhood sustained damage after gunfire erupted from a passing vehicle late Monday afternoon, marking the second shooting incident in the area within nine days. Police are investigating and no injuries have been reported in either case.

Details of the Recent Shooting

Toronto police responded to calls of a shooting near Queen Street West and Portland Street shortly after 4:45 p.m. On February 16, 2026. Evidence of gunfire was discovered at the scene, and a glass door at Miss Ivy, an Asian fusion restaurant located at 502 Queen St. W., was found shattered with visible gunshot holes in another window.

Investigators report that the suspect(s) fled in a dark-coloured vehicle. Queen Street West was temporarily closed between Portland Street and Denison Avenue for the investigation but has since reopened.

Previous Incident

The latest shooting follows a similar incident on February 8, 2026, where gunfire was also reported in the same area.

Community Reaction

Residents and business owners expressed concern over the escalating violence. Adrian Ravinsky, a local business owner, noted the similarities between the two incidents, stating, “This is the second time it’s happened in a week, so it’s a little scary…looks almost like a carbon copy.” Another resident expressed hope for the safety of business owners and the neighbourhood. A man who works in the area voiced his fear for the safety of his coworkers.
