Woody and Buzz Lightyear Return in ‘Toy Story 5’ Trailer – Facing a New Tech Threat
Disney and Pixar have released the official trailer for Toy Story 5, bringing back Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and the rest of the beloved toy gang for a new adventure. This time, the toys face a challenge not from Sid or Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear, but from a modern technological threat: a frog-like tablet named Lilypad.
A New Threat to Playtime
The trailer reveals Lilypad as a disruptive force in Bonnie’s life, raising the question of whether playtime will ever be the same. The film explores what a toy’s purpose is in a world increasingly dominated by screens Variety.
Woody and Buzz Reunite
Following Woody’s decision to leave the group in Toy Story 4 to help abandoned toys, the trailer teases a heartwarming reunion between Woody and Buzz. “It’s been too long cowboy,” Buzz says to Woody, embracing his friend who appears to be slightly balding. The pair quickly fall back into their familiar bickering, much to the amusement of Mr. Potato Head BBC.
Returning Cast and New Additions
Tom Hanks and Tim Allen reprise their iconic roles as Woody and Buzz, respectively. Joan Cusack returns as Jessie, alongside John Ratzenberger as Hamm, Tony Hale as Forky, and Blake Clarke as Slinky Dog. Keanu Reeves also returns as Duke Kaboom. Joining the cast are Greta Lee and Conan O’Brien Variety.
Behind the Scenes
Pixar veteran Andrew Stanton is directing and writing the film. He has described the film as an existential reckoning for toys facing obsolescence, rather than a traditional good-versus-evil story Variety.
Release Date
Toy Story 5 is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 19, 2026 YouTube.
