Fiorentina’s Pursuit of Sikou Niakaté: Transfer Update
Fiorentina has reportedly made an offer to Sporting de Braga for central defender Sikou Niakaté, proposing a loan deal with an option to buy. However, Braga is currently unwilling to accept the loan structure presented by the italian club, seeking option arrangements for any potential departure of the player.
According to transfer market expert Fabrizio romano, fiorentina’s approach includes a buy option clause, indicating their interest in a permanent move should the loan spell prove successful. Braga, though, prefers a different formula for the transfer, suggesting they might potentially be open to a sale or a different type of loan agreement.
niakaté has been a regular feature for Braga this season, making 20 appearances under coach Carlos Vicens. The 28-year-old Mali international has established himself as a key player in the Braga defense as joining the club in 2020 from Oud-Heverlee Leuven.
