Trondheim Apartment Fire Displaces Nine, Cause Under Investigation

Nine residents were safely evacuated from an apartment building in Trondheim, Norway, after a fire broke out early Tuesday morning. The fire, reported at 00:41 local time, completely destroyed one apartment and caused smoke damage to two others.

Fire Quickly Contained

Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, located in an apartment complex with three units. Firefighters were initially concerned about the fire spreading, but discovered a fire wall prevented its expansion to adjacent apartments. The fire was extinguished by 01:30.

Residents Safe, Investigation Underway

All nine occupants of the building were accounted for and examined by ambulance personnel. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and police have launched a technical investigation to determine its origin.

“We have an idea about where the fire started, but the actual cause of the fire is too early to say anything about,” stated police chief Trond Volden (NRK).

One resident expressed relief that no one was hurt, stating, “I have no idea how long it will grab to fix the house. The most important thing is that no lives were lost.”
