The White House launched America.gov on Tuesday, an official federal AI platform designed to help citizens interact with government services like passport renewals and Medicare enrollment. Built around a conversational chatbot, the website aims to provide accurate answers to public queries, though early testing shows the platform frequently refutes false claims made by its creator, Donald Trump.

White House Launches Federal AI Platform

According to the executive order signed by Donald Trump, America.gov functions as a centralized portal where Americans can receive verified information regarding federal programs. The platform’s underlying chatbot draws upon 29,000 distinct websites to formulate its responses. While the administration promotes the tool as the ultimate product for streamlining bureaucratic interactions, the AI’s strict adherence to documented federal data has resulted in automated pushback against several well-known assertions made by the president.

Chatbot Refutes Trump Claims on Elections and Economy

During initial testing on Tuesday, the America.gov chatbot directly contradicted multiple public statements issued by Trump regarding past elections and economic indicators. When queried about the outcome of the 2020 presidential contest, the AI stated that Joseph R. Biden Jr. won the 2020 election and listed the specific electoral college vote count, dismissing claims of widespread voter fraud.

The platform similarly rejected economic claims made by the administration. Addressing Trump’s assertion that Americans were twice as wealthy as they were a short time prior, the chatbot cited Federal Reserve data. The AI noted that the Fed’s Economic Well-Being of U.S. Households in 2025 survey found 73% of adults describing themselves as doing okay or living comfortably, representing no such doubling of typical household finances. The bot refuted claims that the 2021-to-2025 period experienced the worst inflation in U.S. history, pointing instead to Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Price Index figures.

Fact-Checking Inauguration Crowds and Environmental Claims

The platform also addressed points concerning past events and environmental policy. When evaluated against Trump’s statements regarding the attendance at his 2017 inauguration, America.gov relied on records from the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies. The chatbot stated that official sources do not support claims of a record-breaking crowd, noting instead that Barack Obama’s 2009 inauguration holds the record for the largest attendance in Washington, D.C., history.

In response to Trump’s assertions regarding wind power and marine life, the AI stated that U.S. federal science agencies do not find that wind turbines drive whales insane or cause erratic behavior. The platform continues to operate as an automated public resource while drawing data from established federal repositories and official statistics.
