The Tunisian Ministry of Education has announced the schedule for preliminary school orientation for students in their first and second years of secondary school. Orientation Timeline
Here’s a breakdown of the key dates for the 2026 school orientation process:
- Second Week of April 2026: Preliminary orientation begins with students completing online forms.
- Third Week of April 2026: School directors collect orientation forms and hold preliminary orientation meetings. Results are then posted and communicated to students.
- Fourth Week of April – Until Final Orientation Meetings: Individual interviews with students and parents will be conducted to review preliminary orientation proposals.
- August 1st – August 31st, 2026: School reorientation period.
- No Later Than Second Week of September 2026: Students will be informed of the results of reorientation after approval by the regional education commissioner.
- Third Week of September 2026: Reorientation requests will be reopened.
Specialization Choices for Second-Year Students
Students in their second year of secondary school will exclusively choose specializations stemming from the common core curriculum.
Reorientation Process
The Ministry of Education has outlined a process for students seeking to change their orientation:
- Requests for reorientation from students in private schools will be collected and sent to the regional education commissioner for curriculum validation during the first week of the 2026-2027 school year.
- Students have until the second week of October 2026 to withdraw their reorientation request.
- Requests for re-examination of school orientation will be processed by the first week of October 2026.
- The national commission for re-examining school orientation will meet to review and decide on requests by the second week of October 2026.
