Race Across the World 8pm, BBC One Time to strap on the big rucksacks again, as the BBC’s globetrotting hit returns for a sixth series. The starting gun is in Sicily, where five duos psych themselves up for a 12,000km yomp through Europe and Asia without access to flights, phones or much in the way of funds. Their ultimate goal? Northern Mongolia (and a £20,000 prize if they are first). Graeme Virtue Yorkshire’s Poshest Hotel: Grantley Hall 8pm, Channel 5 At Grantley Hall, preparations ramp up for its first Halloween party, with interior and ambience manager Marek racing to spook up the hotel with pumpkins and pop-up coffins. Meanwhile, Michelin-starred chef Shaun Rankin hosts a high-stakes champagne event, and might regular guests Phil and Francis receive a romantic surprise? Ali Catterall The Apprentice 9pm, BBC One The contest to find Britain’s most annoying young entrepreneur intensifies, with the remaining candidates now foisted on the unsuspecting pet industry. Both teams must design a new animal-related product and then construct a social media campaign to promote it – despite being manifestly short of experience, time and common sense. Jack Seale Kegworth: Flight to Disaster 9pm, BBC Two This documentary explores the fate of British Midland Airways flight 092, which crashed into the embankment of the M1 in 1989, with 47 fatalities.
