U.S. Ski and Snowboard Unveils Unified Broadcast Structure for 2026-27 Season
U.S. fans can watch FIS World Cups and World Championships through a streamlined broadcast and streaming structure for the 2026-27 season, featuring NBC platforms, a dedicated YouTube channel, and a new Free Ad-Supported Television (FAST) channel. U.S. Ski & Snowboard announced the multi-platform partnership, which brings together rights previously scattered across up to three different services. The agreement, centralized across countries starting in the 2026-27 season by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), kicks off as the alpine season opens on October 24, 2026, in Sölden, Austria.
Peacock and NBC Sports Secure Comprehensive Alpine and Domestic Coverage
Continuing a nearly 30-year partnership, NBC Sports will stream every alpine World Cup and World Championship live and on demand on Peacock with commentary. Major events will also receive linear television coverage on NBC and the NBC Sports Network (NBCSN), with all alpine races posting to YouTube 24 hours after airing. For events hosted on U.S. soil across all snowsports, Peacock will carry live streams and immediate on-demand replays, while NBC and NBCSN broadcast select competitions. Outside TV will offer full events and highlights on demand for domestic competitions, and YouTube will host those domestic events 24 hours after broadcast.
International Events Move to Free Streaming on YouTube and FAST Channel
Events held outside the United States—covering cross country, freeride, freeski, freestyle, nordic combined, ski jumping, and snowboard—will broadcast live with English commentary on a new dedicated YouTube channel titled Ski & Snowboard World Cup. The same content will feed a new FAST channel under the corresponding name, distributed and operated by C15 Studio across multiple television platforms in the coming weeks. Every international World Cup and World Championship event will also be available on demand on YouTube, alongside Para alpine, Para snowboard, and Para nordic competitions.
Leaders Praise the New Centralized Viewing Model
“For years, fans had to work harder than they should have to watch our athletes compete,” said Sophie Goldschmidt, President and CEO of U.S. Ski & Snowboard, as reported by usskiandsnowboard.org. “We are thrilled that the new centralized broadcast strategy we’ve worked on with FIS and the other countries removes that friction.” Joe Gesue, Senior Vice President of NBC Sports Olympic and Paralympic Programming, added that the expanded deal provides an opportunity to showcase athletes as momentum builds toward the 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Three-time Olympic champion Mikaela Shiffrin noted that time zone hurdles in Europe made following races difficult for domestic fans, emphasizing that accessible viewing helps grow the sport for younger generations.
