Top Performers and Laggards on the London Stock Exchange

Advancing issues outpaced decliners on the London Stock Exchange by 1,108 to 619, while 516 stocks finished the session unchanged, as reported by Investing.com. B&M European Value Retail PLC led the FTSE 100 gainers with a 4.68% increase, adding 11.00 points to close at 246.20. Spirax-Sarco Engineering PLC followed with a 4.06% surge, gaining 280.00 points to finish at 7,185.00, while Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC climbed 3.78% to end the day at 1,504.80 after adding 54.80 points.

Conversely, energy and mining giants weighed on the index. BP PLC registered the session’s steepest decline, dropping 2.83% or 15.80 points to close at 542.90 according to Investing.com data.
