According to the National Police of Ukraine, the blast damaged windows, furniture and computer equipment, as well as vehicles parked in front of the building. Explosion in Mykolaiv

Earlier on February 23rd, an explosion was reported in Mykolaiv on the territory of an abandoned gas station near the city’s police department. Police officials confirmed the detonation of an improvised explosive device, resulting in injuries to five officers, one of whom is in serious condition RBC-Ukraine. Ukrainian authorities have classified this explosion as a terrorist attack.

Recent Terrorist Activity in Lviv

These incidents follow a recent terrorist attack in Lviv on the night of February 22nd, which resulted in the death of 23-year-old policewoman Viktoria Shpilka. A 33-year-old Ukrainian citizen has been arrested and is currently being held without bail RBC-Ukraine.

Investigations revealed the suspect had an accomplice, an 18-year-old girl who allegedly made a false emergency call reporting shoplifting, luring police to the scene of the explosion.

Mykolaiv: A Southern Ukrainian City

Mykolaiv, also known as Nikolaev, is a city in southern Ukraine, serving as the administrative center of Mykolaiv Oblast and Raion Wikipedia. Historically significant as a shipbuilding center, the city was founded in 1789.
