Ukraine’s Defense Forces Strike Russian Assets in Crimea and Zaporizhzhia
On the night of February 21, 2026, Ukraine’s Defense Forces conducted strikes against Russian military assets in occupied Crimea and the Zaporizhzhia region, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
Strikes in Crimea
According to the General Staff, two Russian border patrol ships of Project 22460 Okhotnik were hit near Inkerman, in the eastern part of Crimea. The extent of the damage is currently being assessed.
two Be-12 aircraft were reportedly struck at the Evpatoria Aviation Repair Plant in the city of Evpatoria.
Strike in Zaporizhzhia Region
In the Zaporizhzhia region, Ukrainian forces hit a Russian Tornado-S multiple launch rocket system in the area of the settlement of Astrakhanka.
Damage Assessment
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the full extent of the damage and enemy losses are still being determined. The General Staff serves as the operational entity of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and is responsible for planning the national defense.
The Chief of the General Staff is currently Andrii Hnatov, and the Commander-in-Chief is Oleksandr Syrskyi. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was created in 1991–92.
