UMass Women’s Track and Field Finishes Tenth at MAC Indoor Championships

Mount Pleasant, Mich. – The University of Massachusetts women’s track and field team concluded competition at the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Indoor Championships on Saturday, February 28, 2026, finishing in tenth place overall. Four Minutewomen athletes scored points for UMass throughout the competition.

Key Performances

  • Ashley Johnson secured a sixth-place finish in the women’s 400m finals, clocking a time of 56.45 seconds.
  • Marielsa McBride achieved eighth place in the women’s high jump, clearing a height of 5’5″.
  • Mattie Bishop placed seventh in the women’s shot put with a throw of 44’1.25″.
  • The 4x400m relay team, comprised of Johnson, McBride, Leila Metres, and Ingibjorg Sigurdardottir, finished eighth with a time of 3:52.02.

Looking Ahead

The Minutewomen will continue their season at the New England Championships, beginning on the first day at The Track at New Balance in Boston, Mass.
