Gerindra Dismisses South Aceh Regent Over Umrah Pilgrimage During Disaster
Gerindra Party took a firm stance against Mirwan MS, Chairman of the Gerindra DPC South Aceh who is also the Regent of the region. Mirwan previously received attention for carrying out the Umrah pilgrimage in the midst of floods and landslides that hit 11 sub-districts in his area.
Gerindra Party Secretary General Sugiono admitted that he had received a report regarding mirwan’s departure to Mecca to perform Umrah in the midst of the disaster that hit his area.

“It is very unfortunate for the attitude and leadership of the person concerned, therefore the Gerindra DPP decided to dismiss the person concerned as Chair of the South aceh Gerindra DPC,” said Sugiono when confirmed, Friday (5/12).
Mirwan MS previously received attention for carrying out the umrah pilgrimage in the midst of floods and landslides that hit 11 sub-districts in his area. Moreover, Mirwan MS has issued a letter of incompetence in handling flood and landslide emergency responses.
