UN Security Council to Convene on Russian Missile Attacks in Ukraine

The United Nations Security Council will hold a meeting on Monday, March 23, 2026, at the request of the Ukrainian delegation, to discuss ongoing Russian missile attacks against Ukraine. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM Eastern American time (9:00 PM Kyiv time).

Meeting Leadership and Representation

The session will be chaired by U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, as the United States currently holds the presidency of the Security Council for March. Representing the United Nations Secretariat will be Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo, alongside a representative from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

Previous Discussions

This is not the first time the Security Council has addressed the issue of Russian attacks on Ukraine. In January, an emergency meeting was convened at Ukraine’s request to discuss previous attacks, including the utilize of Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missiles.
