Nine weekends in which F1 and MotoGP will overlap in the 2026 season
As in 2025, the 2026 season will once again see a number of overlaps between race weekends of Formula 1 and of motogp. Both world championships have continued to expand their calendars in recent years, meaning 2026 will once again see a number of concurrences.
For many motorsport fans who follow both Formula 1 and MotoGP, this raises the question of whether it will still be possible to follow all Grands Prix in both categories live despite the parallel dates. Thanks to different start times and different time zones, this will be possible in most cases.
here is an overview of all the concurrent dates of the 2026 season: we show you how fans will be able to follow both categories live despite the overlaps.
March 29, F1 Japan – MotoGP USA
The first clash of the year is already scheduled for March 29, when Formula 1 will host the Japanese Grand Prix and MotoGP will together visit Texas for the Grand Prix of the Americas. Though, due to the huge distance between Suzuka and Austin, the start times are very far apart.
This means that the races can easily be followed one after the other: Formula 1 starts at 07:00 European time, while MotoGP at 21:00. There are also many hours in between to recover from the early start.
April 12, F1 Bahrain – MotoGP Qatar
The events will be much closer on April 12, when Formula 1 will race in Bahrain and MotoGP in qatar. The fact that both races take place in the Middle East means that the start times are closer together.
Formula 1 will take to the track at 5pm, while MotoGP will start at 7pm. thus, if there are no accidents, the Formula 1 race will end shortly before the start of the MotoGP race.
7 June, F1 Monaco – MotoGP hungary
there will be another clash of dates on June 7, when the Formula 1 classic in monaco clashes with the MotoGP race in Hungary. In this case, the times are reversed: MotoGP will start at 2pm, Formula 1 one hour later, at 3pm, when in theory MotoGP should have already finished.
June 28, F1 Austria – MotoGP Holland
The situation is similar on June 28, when Formula 1 will race in Austria and MotoGP in Holland. Again, the start times are separated by only one hour.MotoGP will start at 2pm and Formula 1 at 3pm, so the two Grands Prix can be seen directly after each other.
13 September, F1 Spain – MotoGP San Marino
After the summer break, the next meeting will be held on September 13th. Formula 1 will race in Spain, in the first race in the city of Madrid, while MotoGP will be in Misano for the San Marino GP. Both races
MotoGP | Suppo: “I wouldn’t be surprised if Marquez returned to Honda”
Livio Suppo, former Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) team manager, believes a return for Marc marquez to Honda isn’t impractical. He acknowledges Marquez’s current commitment to Gresini Racing, but doesn’t rule out a future reunion.
Suppo stated he wouldn’t be shocked if Marquez ultimately chose to rejoin Honda. He emphasized the strong relationship Marquez has with the Japanese manufacturer, despite recent challenges. Marquez left Honda at the end of 2023 after a arduous period marked by injuries and bike performance issues.
“Marc and Honda have a history,” Suppo explained.”They achieved incredible success together. Its a strong bond, and you can’t simply erase that.”
He recognizes Marquez is currently focused on rebuilding his career with Gresini and Ducati. However, Suppo suggests that circumstances can change quickly in motogp. He points to the unpredictable nature of rider contracts and team dynamics.
“Right now, Marc is with Gresini and is doing a great job,” Suppo continued. “But MotoGP is a world where things can change very rapidly. We’ve seen riders switch teams unexpectedly before.”
Suppo’s comments fuel speculation about Marquez’s long-term plans. While he’s currently contracted with Gresini, a potential return to Honda remains a possibility, especially if the team can address the issues that led to his departure. He believes Honda is working hard to improve its bikes and regain its competitive edge.
“Honda is working to improve, and they are investing a lot of resources,” Suppo added. “If they can make significant progress, it could make a return for Marc more appealing.”
Currently, Marquez is performing well with Gresini, showcasing his talent and adaptability on a different machine.his performance will undoubtedly influence his future options and the potential for a return to his former team.
