Uniqlo Expands to Wales with Cardiff Flagship Store Opening in 2027
Uniqlo will open its first store in Wales at Cardiff’s St David’s shopping centre in autumn 2027, marking a major expansion for the Japanese global apparel retailer in the United Kingdom, according to FashionNetwork 日本. The two-floor flagship store will span more than 10,000 square feet and offer the brand’s LifeWear collections for men, women, kids, and babies.
Retail Expansion Across the United Kingdom
The Cardiff launch is part of a broader UK retail rollout for the brand, which currently operates 26 stores nationwide. Recent openings include locations at Grand Arcade in Cambridge, Trafford Centre in Manchester, and Chester. Additional new stores are scheduled for Bath in the spring or summer, alongside future openings in Brighton, Canary Wharf, and Leeds.
Alessandro Dudek, Chief Operating Officer at Uniqlo UK, stated that many Welsh customers already shop online with the retailer, and the physical storefront will bring the brand’s experience closer to shoppers across the region.
St David’s Shopping Centre Secured Tenancy
Landsec owns and operates the St David’s shopping centre where the new store will occupy its two-level space. Claire Dutton, portfolio director at St David’s, described the agreement as a significant contract that strengthens the landlord’s relationship with the retailer.
We have already built a strong relationship with Uniqlo through our wider portfolio, and we are thrilled to welcome the brand to St David’s as it continues its expansion across the UK,
Dutton said, noting that visitor numbers continue to rise at the complex.
