Universidad de Cantabria Makes Debut in QS World University Rankings 2027

The Universidad de Cantabria (UC) has been included for the first time in the QS World University Rankings 2027, a global evaluation of top institutions, according to a statement from the university. The ranking, published by the British consultancy Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), places UC in the 1001-1200 bracket globally, marking its entry into one of the most prestigious academic rankings worldwide.

UC’s Position and Key Metrics

In the 2027 rankings, UC is listed in the 1001-1200 range globally, with specific placements in subject areas. It ranks between 551-600 in Physics and Astronomy and 1,151-1,200 in Sustainability. Nationally, the university is ranked 92nd among southern European institutions. The vicerector of Coordination and Communication, Mar Marcos, described the inclusion as a “significant milestone,” highlighting the university’s focus on teaching quality, research, and internationalization.
