UT Permian Basin Men’s Tennis Falls to Mississippi College, Prepares for Harding University

TYLER, Texas (February 20, 2026) – The UT Permian Basin men’s tennis team suffered a 6-1 defeat against No. 22 Mississippi College on Friday at Tyler Junior College. The Falcons are now 1-3 on the season, while Mississippi College improves to 3-0.

Doubles Competition

Lucas Nakasato and Andrew Hunsley secured a 7-3 victory over Mikayel Avanesyan and Charles Lefort at the No. 2 doubles position. Still, Joao D’Amorim and Nehal Naidoo fell 6-2 to Matias Ruiz and Mattia Ricci in the decisive No. 1 doubles match.

  • #6 – Lucas Cavalvanti de Carvalho (MC) def. Enrique Silveira (UTPB) 6-0, 6-2

The order of finish in singles play was 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Sergio Ramirez Ocana of Mississippi College previously clinched a 4-3 victory over UTPB last season with a win at the No. 6 singles match.
