UW-Eau Claire Gymnastics Shatters Program Records in Defeat to UW-Oshkosh

Eau Claire, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team delivered a historic performance on Thursday night, setting multiple program records despite a loss to UW-Oshkosh. The Blugolds achieved an overall team score of 192.900, surpassing their previous record of 190.925 set just last Sunday.

Record-Breaking Performances on Beam and Bars

Sophomore Hareet Gehlon led the charge, tying the program record on the balance beam with a score of 9.825, which also marked a new personal best for the gymnast. The team collectively excelled on the beam, earning a score of 48.200, just 0.025 shy of their program record set the previous week.

Georgia Guynn and Grace Gerster also achieved personal bests on the balance beam, scoring 9.750 and 9.700 respectively. Linnea Vasali contributed a 9.650, and Jozie Armos added a 9.625 to the team total.

The Blugolds also set a new program record on the uneven bars, posting a team score of 48.200. Kinley Rose anchored the event with a personal best of 9.775. Ava Obermoller and Rachel Hettiarachy both scored 9.675, even as Ella Montgomery earned a 9.625 and Linnea Vasali scored a 9.450.

Strong Performances Across All Events

UW-Eau Claire continued to demonstrate strength across all events. On vault, the team scored 47.675, led by Ava Obermoller’s personal best of 9.700. Abigail Berens and Grace Gerster both recorded scores of 9.575, while Haley Zampella scored a 9.450 and Cadence Cordova achieved a 9.375.

The floor exercise saw Anna Preussner and Hannah Riha tie for the team lead, both achieving personal bests with scores of 9.800. Kamryn Andrade followed closely with a personal best of 9.700, and Emily Leese and Sky Skipper contributed scores of 9.600 and 9.575, respectively.
