Vanderbilt Football Introduces the Man of the Month Award
Vanderbilt Football has launched a new recognition program called the Man of the Month award to honor student-athletes who embody the program’s core values of discipline, respect, and team spirit.
The award was first announced in January 2025, with the inaugural recipient being Carson Lawrence, a safety for the Commodores, honored for his performance and conduct during the month of January.
Subsequent honorees have included Dontae Carter, who was recognized in March 2025 for his continued demonstration of leadership and commitment on and off the field.
The Man of the Month award is part of Vanderbilt Football’s broader effort to celebrate character and accountability within the program, aligning with other team recognitions such as the Mr. Commodore Award and the Male Player of the Year honor.
By highlighting players who consistently uphold the standards of excellence expected of Vanderbilt student-athletes, the program aims to foster a culture of integrity and mutual respect throughout the team.
