Alejo Véliz: Potential Early Move to Brazilian Football with City Group

Rosario Central faces a potential disruption to their plans with forward Alejo Véliz, whose loan agreement is set to expire in June. Reports indicate that Véliz could make a move to Brazilian football sooner than anticipated.

City Group has reportedly submitted an offer to Tottenham Hotspur, the club that holds the economic rights to Véliz,to secure his services for one of their Brazilian affiliates. Rosario Central does not possess a purchase option for the player, making the transfer likely if Véliz agrees and no unforeseen circumstances arise.

Véliz returned to Rosario central in 2025 following a significant transfer to Tottenham. During his time back with El Canalla, he has featured in 16 matches, scoring five goals.

According to UOL Esporte, City Group is considering placing Véliz with Bahía, a club under their ownership. This strategy mirrors their previous approach with Thiago Almada. Véliz participated in normal training sessions, and his involvement in Wednesday’s amiable match against Almirante Brown will be a key indicator of whether he will play or be rested, considering the possibility of his departure.
