Vice Golf Expands Club Lineup with VG103 Blade Irons and Forged Wedges
Vice Golf, known for its direct-to-consumer golf ball business, continues its expansion into golf clubs with the introduction of the VG103 irons and VGW02 wedges. The VG103 is a single-piece forged blade designed to appeal to a wider range of players, while the VGW02 wedges offer a clean, straightforward design for precision around the greens.
Vice Golf’s Evolution in the Golf Club Market
Founded in 2012 by Ingo Duellmann and Rainer Stoekl, Vice Golf initially disrupted the golf ball market before expanding into wedges, putters, and iron sets in 2024. MyGolfSpy notes the company’s journey has been marked by innovation and a focus on providing quality equipment directly to consumers.
The Vice VG103 Irons: A “Playable Blade”
The VG103 irons are single-piece forged from soft 1020 carbon steel. Vice Golf aims to bridge the gap between traditional blades and more forgiving irons with a “face-stretching design.” This design increases the effective hitting area and perimeter weighting, offering more stability and forgiveness than conventional blades. According to Vice Golf CEO Marco Burger, this innovation allows for maximum workability without compromising feel and feedback. MyGolfSpy suggests the VG103 could be playable for an eight- to 10-handicapper.
Vice VGW02 Wedges: Simple and Effective
Complementing the VG103 irons, Vice Golf introduces the VGW02 wedges, also single-piece forged from 1020 carbon steel. Available in 50-, 54-, and 58-degree models, the wedges feature a clean design with diagonal milling patterns on the sole. They are offered with KBS Tour or Tour Lite steel shafts, Vice’s proprietary Whiz steel shafts, or Vice Whiz graphite shafts, with upgrade options available. Vice Golf emphasizes a straightforward approach to wedge design, focusing on performance and versatility.
Pricing and Availability
The Vice Golf VGI03 irons are priced at $999 for a 4-PW seven-piece set and are fully customizable for shaft and grip. In-person fitting is available through Club Champion. The Vice VGW02 wedges are available for $129 each on the Vice Golf website, with various shaft options available at different price points.
Vice Golf’s Commitment to Value
Vice Golf continues to position itself as a provider of premium golf equipment at competitive prices. By utilizing a direct-to-consumer model, the company aims to deliver high-performance clubs without the premium markup associated with traditional brands. Vice Golf states its clubs are engineered using real golfer data to match performance to individual games.
