What are the Electronic Identification Codes?

Each housing unit or specific floor area within a building will receive a unique alphanumeric code, not exceeding 40 characters . These codes will be managed within a national database on housing and the real estate market. The structure of the code includes project/construction information, location identification (if applicable), and a sequential character string .

How Will the Codes Be Assigned?

Local Departments of Construction are responsible for assigning these codes. For properties under construction, the code will be issued simultaneously with the notification that the units are eligible for sale . For existing floor areas within constructed projects, the code will be assigned upon the issuance of the feasibility study report for construction investment.

Why is This Change Happening?

Experts believe the introduction of property identification codes will address longstanding issues of opacity in the Vietnamese real estate market.
