Lane Stadium Gates Open Earlier for 2026 Football Season
Virginia Tech Athletics introduced Hokie Hour for the remainder of the 2026 football season along with stadium entry operations changes aimed at reducing fan congestion at Lane Stadium, hokiesports.com reported. Gates now open 2.5 hours prior to kickoff.
Concession Discounts and Early Bird Pricing During Hokie Hour
During the first hour of gates opening, fans receive 50 percent off non-alcoholic concessions at most locations. The early bird special also features four-dollar select domestic beers, five-dollar select import beers, and five-dollar canned transfusions, requiring fans to be 21 years or older.
Our fans are the heartbeat of Lane Stadium, and we want every part of their Virginia Tech Gameday Experience to reflect that,
said Virginia Tech vice president and director of athletics Brian White.
Operational Changes and Pedestrian Access on Beamer Way
Virginia Tech deployed additional staffing and ticket-scanning equipment at entry points to shorten wait times. Beamer Way operates as a pedestrian-only zone on gamedays to create a safer gathering space for the Hokie Walk and pep rally.
