Implementation in Dong Nai Province
Dr. Tran Dinh Chat,Director of the Planning,Professional and Nursing department of Xuan Loc Regional Medical Center in Dong Nai Province,explained the planning for the campaign: “Before implementing the campaign,the medical center developed a plan and reviewed the list of infants and toddlers aged between 6 months and under 36 months in the region. We also trained medical staff on the purpose, content and methods of vitamin A distribution, and cooperated with the local Peopel’s Committee and local departments, branches and organizations to promote parents to bring their children to drink vitamin A.” During this period, more than 9,700 infants and children in Xuan Loc received vitamin A for free.
Reaching 100% Coverage
Many municipalities and districts are employing effective interaction strategies to achieve the goal of ensuring that 100% of eligible children receive vitamin A.
Dr. Bao Thu, director of Xuan Loc village health center, stated: “We compile a list of children based on vaccination software. It will also be reviewed by medical staff in villages and updated regularly to ensure accuracy.”
