Vancouver Police Cruiser Involved in Crash, Two Hospitalized

Two people were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a Vancouver Police Department (VPD) cruiser collided with another vehicle and a power pole on Granville Street near West 13th Avenue on Sunday morning, according to the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA).

Details of the Incident

The VPD stated that the cruiser was responding to a reported crime in progress when the collision occurred. Following the initial impact with another vehicle, the cruiser struck a power pole, causing overhead power lines to fall.

Paramedics arrived on the scene shortly before 4:30 a.m. And provided emergency medical treatment to three patients. Two of those patients were subsequently taken to hospital in stable condition. The driver of the other vehicle involved was not injured.

Damage to the Cruiser

Images from the scene reveal significant damage to the VPD cruiser, appearing to be completely crushed in the front end.

Investigation Underway

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the Vancouver Police Department. Further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
